Online Casino Sucker Bets — Part 2

  • Progressive side wagers: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly have one of these. You normally place a wager (a dollar is the normal amount) to try to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Although big jackpots like this are extremely appealing, they’re also very difficult to win. You might have to hit a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this wager. Also, imagine this- you wager 20 hands and lay the side bet each time. That is 20 dollars you could have used towards the actual game bet instead of a sucker bet. Just think about what you could have been able to win at a bet with greater odds employing that $20.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only 1. This shifts the complete house advantage from 2.63% with a single zero wheel to a huge 5.26% in American. The single number wager has only a one in thirty eight chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much lower casino edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you bet on it, the house advantage can be a whopping 25%. Yes, that is not a typo. Due to the huge set of numbers you have to pick, it isn’t recommended to bet on Keno very much. A number of times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not waste all your money on it or you’ll immediately discover yourself bankrupt.
