Internet Casino Sucker Wagers — Part I
[ English ]
- Proposition wagers in Craps: These Craps bets basically means you’re betting that a particular feature will develop on the upcoming toss. For instance, you might make the ‘hard ways’ bet, which basically means that you are betting that the tosser will toss a 4, 6, 8 or 10 by rolling a double. These bets offer a casino edge of anywhere from 9.1-11.1%. This is a massive casino edge, and it’s awfully rare that they hit.
- Tie wager in Baccarat: This is a bet that no one, the croupier or the player will come away with a win, but that the hands will tie. This is a very abnormal occurrence in net Baccarat, therefore the house advantage is high. At 14.1% casino edge, this is the quintisential definition of a sucker wager.
- Insurance in Black Jack: Although chemin de fer has one of the smallest house advantages (and there is also a lot of skill required), this is a sucker bet. Depending on how many decks are being used and the rules of the table, the casino advantage of this is at least five %, but can be as big as 14 percent. Only very experienced card counters are able to make this wager work for them, and even then it’s still a sucker wager.
